Shri Krishna Janmashtami in New Zealand is celebrated in almost all temples and by various community association. Most of the temples in New Zealand starts celebrating Shri Krishna Janma Ashtami about 5-7 days in advance with Katha, Prayers, Aarti and Kirtan.

Tithi / Panchang

Ashtami starts on 3rd Sep 3.17am as per Auckland time and ends on 4th Sep 1.50am. Tithi remains same in almost all part of New Zealand.

Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4, Verse 7-8

यदा यदा हि धर्मस्य ग्लानिर्भवति भारत ।
अभ्युत्थानमधर्मस्य तदात्मानं सृजाम्यहम् ॥४-७॥
परित्राणाय साधूनां विनाशाय च दुष्कृताम् ।
धर्मसंस्थापनार्थाय सम्भवामि युगे युगे ॥४-८॥

The verse in English:

Yada yada hi dharmasya glanirbhavati bharata
Abhythanamadharmasya tadatmanam srijamyaham
Paritranaya sadhunang vinashay cha dushkritam
Dharma-sansthapanarthay sambhabami yuge yuge

Meaning in Hindi:

 हे भारत! जब-जब धर्म की हानि
और अधर्म की वृद्धि होती है, तब-तब मैं साकार रूप से प्रकट होता हूँ॥7॥

अच्छे पुरुषों का उद्धार करने के लिए, पाप कर्म करने वालों का विनाश करने के लिएऔर
धर्म की अच्छी तरह से स्थापना करने के लिए मैं युग-युग में प्रकट हुआ करता हूँ॥8॥

Meaning in English

Whenever there is decay of righteousness, O Bharata,

And there is exaltation of unrighteousness, then I Myself come forth;

For the protection of the good, for the destruction of evil-doers,
For the sake of firmly establishing righteousness, I am born from age to age.
